Psolos fuligo (Mabille, 1876) - Dusky Partwing

(1) Psolos fuligo subfasciatus (Moore, 1878) – Indian Dusky Partwing
Many Indian butterfly books list this species with its old English name, the Coon, which should be changed because it is racially offensive. We propose an alternative English name for this species – Dusky Partwing – based on its dark coloration and the fact that the forewing tips in this species are curved outward, and therefore the forewings remain parted at the tips when the butterfly is at rest (see image ai539).
