Subspecies in India

(1) Telinga mestra mestra (Hewitson, 1862) – Assam White-edged Bushbrown
(2) Telinga mestra sadona (Tytler, 1939) – Sadon White-edged Bushbrown
(3) Telinga mestra vetus (Fruhstorfer, 1911) – Bhutan White-edged Bushbrown

This species was earlier included under Mycalesis (Evans 1932), then under Heteropsis (Kodandaramaiah et al. 2010), but has since been transferred under Telinga (Aduse-Poku et al. 2016).
