(1) Hypolycaena erylus himavantus Fruhstorfer, [1912] – Sikkim Common Tit
(2) Hypolycaena erylus andamana Moore, 1877 – Andaman Common Tit

This species is historically known from S. Myanmar southeastward into SE Asian islands up to Borneo and the Philippines, and in northern Australia (Evans 1932; Talbot 1939; Corbet et al. 1992; Ek-Amnuay 2012; Inayoshi 2016). Specimens collected by C. Sivaperuman from the Great Nicobar Island and deposited in the Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair, and the images (BOI-cb919 to BOI-cb921) taken at the Campbell Bay, Great Nicobar Island, by Snehaa Sundaram and Dhee and published here on 9 August 2016, represent the first published records of this species from India.
